Mattawa student receives Northwest FCS scholarship

MATTAWA - Northwest Farm Credit Services has awarded 44 scholarships to sons and daughters of Northwest FCS customers and employees in Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington, including one from Mattawa.
Eight high school students and three college students from each state were awarded $1,500 scholarships. Four employees' students received $1,500 scholarships. Human Resources also awarded two diversity and four land grant university scholarships worth $1,500 apiece.
Washington college scholarship recipients included Ethan Dufault, son of Peter and Susan Dufault of Mattawa. He is a student at Seattle Pacific University studying business administration. He manages stock portfolios and executes stock purchases at SPU.
Dufault was a Junior Achievement Student Teacher and a Worship Team Leader. In high school he was president of the National Honor Society and Valedictorian. He is a financial operations intern, City Quest volunteer and a farmer.
Dufault enjoys football, basketball, softball and volleyball. He plans on pursuing a career in corporate finance and agriculture.
The Washington high school scholarship recipients included Cody Anderson, son of Duaine and Kathy Anderson of Othello. In high school he was the president of his senior class, a student representative and a tutor in the college readiness program. He played football, basketball and golf.
Anderson takes pride in serving as a Deacon at his church. He was President of his local 4-H club and has held many leadership positions in the Othello FFA Chapter.
