Shooting in Quincy leaves 1 man injured
QUINCY - Quincy police are looking for information in a Tuesday night shooting that left a 22-year-old man injured outside an apartment complex.
Officers responded about 7:30 p.m. to Fourth Avenue Southeast and G Street Southeast after reports that a man had been shot. Witnesses told police the victim, Joshua D. Avalos, of Quincy, was reportedly arguing with the suspect who was in a green Honda with dark tinted windows when the suspect fired at him and drove away, according to Quincy police. Avalos was found in the grass of an apartment complex.
Police did not indicate if the shooter was in the vehicle when shots were fired.
Avalos suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released from Quincy Valley Medical Center. He was then arrested on unrelated warrants for failing to pay a fine for no valid operator's license and failing to appear in court for resisting arrest, according to jail records.
Quincy police believe Avalos does not have ties to any local gangs. Investigators are looking for any witnesses to the incident or any information about the green Honda. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Jorge Trujillo at 509-787-4718.
