Charlene Annette Moline

Charlene Annette Moline, 72, of Royal City, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at her home with her family at her side.

Charlene was born on January 29, 1942 in Webb City, Missouri to George and Lorraine (Baker) Gailey. The family lived at State Line, OK. They moved to Baxter, ID in 1945, then to Murtaugh, ID in 1948. She graduated from high school in Murtaugh and attended the University of Idaho for two years. She attended and graduated from beauty school in Boise. She moved to Denver, CO in 1965, then returned to Idaho in 1966 and married Tony Moline, a high school sweetheart, in 1966. Tony was in the Navy and they were moved, first, to Maryland, then to Virginia. When Tony was deployed aboard a ship, Charlene took her children back to Twin Falls, ID and when the union between Charlene and Tony was dissolved in 1971, Charlene took her girls to Canoga Park, CA where she worked as a beautician until 1987. She then brought her family to Othello.

In Othello Charlene worked for Sprouse Reitz as a clerk, bartended at the Othello Eagles Lodge, worked at Carpet Carousel and then at Walmart. Charlene loved life and wanted to take "it all in." She traveled with her friend, Donna, on a cruise to the Bahamas, flying to Alaska to soak her feet in glacier water, and a 6 week road trip across the continent that actually only lasted 4 weeks, but in that 4 weeks she visited 49 states and 7 provinces. In Othello she embraced the Eagles Lodge. As a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Charlene held all of the board positions, most notably president and delegate to state and national conventions. When the Eagles Auxiliary was disbanded she became a regular member of the Lodge. She always enjoyed the Lodge. She bartended, cooked, and was always involved in the politics of the Lodge. From her early years, she enjoyed a love of bowling and played on many teams in Idaho. She enjoyed needlework, baking and loved Elvis. Charlene would travel from California to Los Vegas just to watch Elvis. She saw him countless times, often taking her girls, and returning by work time on Monday. Charlene's happiest times were with her family and her extended families. She loved to socialize and to play a practical joke or two. She will be remembered as a spitfire that would hold you to your word and cuss you out if you didn't follow through, then hug you and tell you how much she cared. Charlene was plagued by a painful ailment much of her adult life, but it never deterred her and she never complained. She always moved forward.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughters Janni (Chris) Hamby of Filer, ID and Kris (Buddy) Fisk of Royal City; her siblings, Allen (Carlene) Gailey of Cascade, ID and Betty (Jim) Logan of Othello, two grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
