Vision 2020 recognizes Moses Lake workout studio
MOSES LAKE - Last March, The Health Zone owners George and Angie Stevenson were celebrating the move of their workout studio to downtown Moses Lake.
The couple, who opened The Health Zone in 2009, were growing out of their old space on Broadway Avenue and needed something bigger, according to a previous Columbia Basin Herald article. They marked their move at the time with a ribbon-cutting event with members of the Moses Lake Chamber of Commerce.
Chamber members, along with Vision 2020 and Moses Lake Business Association members, were back at The Health Zone this week to help the Stevensons celebrate another achievement.
The Health Zone received Vision 2020's Visionary Award this month, which is given to businesses and individuals who are making a positive difference in the community. Vision 2020 chair Bill Ecret said The Health Zone is making a difference in the Moses Lake community by promoting exercise and leading a healthy lifestyle.
The workout studio features about 10 T-Zone machines. T-Zone machines are Canadian made whole body vibration machines that cause a user's muscles to expand and contract.
Ten minutes on the T-Zone machine is the equivalent of about an hour workout at a traditional gym, said George Stevenson in a previous interview.
The Health Zone also has an Aqua Massage machine, which gives customers the equivalent of an hour massage in 20 minutes.
Since moving to downtown Moses Lake, Stevenson said they have been able to add more services for their customers. The Health Zone now offers reflexology and massage therapy services, provided by certified staff.
Customers will also find hyperbaric oxygen therapy services at The Health Zone, he said.
Stevenson said they opened the business many years ago as a way to simply help people get healthy and stay healthy.
"Our vision was to just help people," he said. "That's all it is, we're just helping people."
