WENATCHEE - Local swimmer Eric Kemper had a strong showing at a meet in Wenatchee recently.

The unattached swimmer out of Moses Lake shaved seconds off the times of every event he competed in.

Unattached means Kemper is not a member of any local swim team. However, he is still a USA certified swimmer.

In the 200 meter fly, one of the more difficult races, Kemper dropped 22.31 seconds and recorded a time of 3 minutes, 26.22 seconds.

He was also able to shave 4.10 seconds off his time in the 50 meter breaststroke and finish in 47.90 seconds.

Kemper was able to take third place out of 60 swimmers in the 50 meter fly after dropping 2.43 seconds off his best time.

Kemper qualified for the championship meet in July, which is also held in Wenatchee. He qualified in the 50 meter backstroke with a time of 39.07 seconds, the 100 meter fly with a time of 1 minute, 22.24 seconds and the 200 individual medley with a time of 3 minutes, 5.40 seconds.
