MOSES LAKE - In a few weeks, football players from across the state will descend on Moses Lake for the East-West High School All-Star Football Game.

However, before the two teams take the field the players will spend the week in Moses Lake practicing and participating in several activities.

Moses Lake High School football coach Todd Griffith and athletic director Loren Sandhop are looking for families to feed players and show them a good time in the community the night before the game, June 26.

Some families take players out on the water while some spend a night bowling.

"Lake Bowl definitely does a good job," Griffith said. "They feed them a couple nights and breakfast and that kind of stuff. They bowl there one night and they're involved in it big time."

Last year, players were attended a Moses Lake Rotary Club meeting and would've spend a day at the aquatic center had it not been for torrential downpours the week of the game.

The weather improved by Friday and Lions Field was packed to watch the top prep players.

"Last year's football game was an awesome game," Griffith said. "It was great, we had a ton of people come out and watch Friday night. It was a good deal."

This year, Chiawana High School figures to be well represented after winning the 4A state championship.

"It's just good for our community," Griffith said. "One, to get all these people in town to come watch the game ... You get people from the coast, people from Spokane, Tri-Cities."
