REPURPOSE OF WELL NO. 5 - PHASE 1
Sealed Proposals will be received by the undersigned at the City of Warden, 121 South Main Street, Warden, Washington 98857, up to 2:00 P.M.; local time on Thursday, June 19, 2014, for furnishing the necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools, and guarantees thereof to construct the Repurpose of Well No. 5 - Phase 1.
The work consists of furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for repurposing Well No. 5 from a municipal water supply well to an irrigation supply well. Work shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Piping modifications at Well No. 5 including demolition of existing piping, installation of new 8-inch and 12-inch diameter piping, installation of new propeller flow meter in a precast concrete vault, and remove and replace existing pump-to-waste pipe assembly with base block.
• Approximately 700 feet of new 12-inch diameter PVC C900 including trench excavation and backfill.
• Connect new 12-inch pipeline to existing 14-inch PVC C905 pipeline.
• Piping connection at Mixing Pond.
• Piping modifications at Well 8 including demolition of 10-inch diameter pipe, valves, and fittings, new 10-inch and 12-inch diameter pipe valves and fitting, the relocation of an existing filter assembly, the relocation of an existing 10-inch diameter reduced pressure backflow device.
• Approximately 1,500 feet of new 16-inch diameter potable water main including airport runway crossing with CDF backfill.
The Work shall be substantially complete within 25 working days after the commencement date stated in the Notice to Proceed. All bidding and construction is to be performed in compliance with the Contract Provisions and Contract Plans for this project and any addenda issued thereto that are on file at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, Washington.
The Proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud shortly after the time and date stated above. Proposals are to be submitted only on the form provided with the Contract Provisions. All Proposals must be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check, money order, or bid bond payable to the “Owner” and in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid.
Contract Provisions and Contract Plans may be examined at the office of the Owner, local plan centers in the project area, or the office of the Project Engineer, Gray & Osborne, Inc. Licensed Contractors and Material Suppliers may obtain a copy of the Contract Provisions and Contract Plans, free of charge, in electronic format (PDF on compact disk(s)) along with registration as a planholder only at the Yakima office of the Project Engineer, Gray & Osborne, Inc., 107 South Third Street, Yakima, WA 98901, (509) 453-4833. Request for Contract Provisions and Plans may be faxed ((509 453 5953) or emailed (yakima@g-o.com). Request must include company name, physical address, phone and fax numbers, and email address. Registration as a planholder is required to obtain Contract Addenda. Contract questions shall be directed only to the office of the Project Engineer.
1. A Prebid Conference is scheduled for June 13, 2014. The conference will begin at the Warden City Hall, 121 South Main Street, Warden, Washington at 1:00 P.M. (local time). Prospective bidders are encouraged to participate. Any other site visits shall be limited to 9 A.M. to 4 P.M., Monday through Friday, and shall be coordinated through Ms. Kristine Shuler, of the City, by calling 509-349-2326, at least 24 hours in advance of the visit. No unauthorized visits or unscheduled visits will be allowed.
Financing of the Project has been provided by the State of Washington and the Grant County Economic Development Council. The Owner expressly reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals and to waive minor irregularities or informalities and to Award the Project to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as it best serves the interests of the City.
