Port of Moses Lake finds replacement for executive director
MOSES LAKE-- Port of Moses Lake commissioners have found a successor
for outgoing port executive director Patrick Jones.
They announced the selection of Jeffrey Bishop, current city manager
of Miami, Okla., during a meeting earlier this week.
Commissioners have been searching for Jones' replacement since May,
when he first announced he would be leaving the port.
Bishop was one of three finalists for the position.
He has been in his current role as city manager for just over two
years. Prior to that, he served as director of the port in Coos Bay,
Ore. for nearly seven years; manager of industrial development at the
Port of Tacoma for three and half years and director of properties and
development for the Port of Pasco for almost five years.
Jones said commissioners would negotiate an employment agreement with
Bishop over the next couple of weeks and make a formal appointment at
their next business meeting in August.
