Five Suns Bluegrass is coming to Moses Lake this weekend
Members of the band Della Mae play the Wenatchee River Bluegrass Festival earlier this year at the Chelan County Fairgrounds. The band will headline Friday night at the Five Suns Bluegrass Festival in Moses Lake's Centennial Park.
MOSES LAKE - The Five Suns Bluegrass Festival returns to Moses Lake's Centennial Amphitheater this weekend with well-known, well-respected bluegrass bands. The festival is free and offers four workshops for beginning players on Saturday.
Internationally touring, all-female band Della Mae headlines the festival on Friday night and Chatham County Line brings its southern Appalachian sound to the stage as the headliner on Saturday night.
The festivities begin on Friday with an open mic at 5 p.m. The Downtown Mountain Boys take the stage at 6 p.m. The Washington-based group FarmStrong plays at 7 p.m. The young musicians of Pearl Snaps play at 8 p.m., before the headliners Della Mae take over at 9 p.m. Della Mae features Spokane musician Kimber Ludiker on the fiddle.
On Saturday at 11 a.m., organizers will hold a bluegrass guitar and mandolin workshop, followed by another bluegrass guitar and fiddle workshop at noon.
Saturday's music also begins with an open mic at 4 p.m. Topstring plays the festival at 5 p.m., FarmStrong returns for a 6 p.m. show, followed by The Downtown Mountain Boys at 7 p.m. Front Country returns for a second set when they play at 8 p.m., followed by bluegrass heavyweight and western North Carolina natives Chatham County Line. Organizers also will hold a salmon dinner; cost is $9.95 per person.
