Ricky Lee Peterson

Ricky Lee Peterson, 61, longtime Moses Lake resident died in his home Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in Moses Lake. He was born January 30, 1953 in Murray, Utah to Lucy May (Nuzman) and Glen Vernal Peterson.

Ricky loved history and studying the scriptures, reading science fiction and fantasy books and writing. He enjoyed socializing with friends and his family, attending church. He will be remembered for his many acts of kindness and selfless service, being the epitome of a much-loved brother, uncle and friend. He attended Big Bend Community College studying Industrial Electrical and worked at McCain Foods in Othello, Wash. He was a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served a full-time mission in the Alaska-British Columbia Mission as a young man.

Ricky is survived by four brothers, Wayne Glen Peterson of Spokane, Wash., Paul Allen Peterson of Calais, Maine, Dean Doyle Peterson and Vernal Lamar Peterson, both of Moses Lake, Wash., 8 nephews, 8 nieces and many grand-nieces and nephews, all of whom were dearly loved by him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lucy and Glen.

Viewing will be from 9 - 9:45 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2014 with funeral services at 10:00 a.m., in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Rose St. Chapel, 1036 W. Rose Ave., Moses Lake, Wash. Burial and concluding services will immediately follow in Pioneer Memorial Gardens, Moses Lake, Wash.
