Royal man injured

ROYAL CITY - Two people were hurt on July 17 in a two-car crash involving a Royal City man one mile east of Royal City at Highway 26 and Road E SW.

The cause of the accident was still being investigated by the Washington State Patrol as of Monday. The crash occurred in the intersection. The WSP said drugs or alcohol were involved.

According to the WSP, Antonio Gallo-Cortez, 31, of Royal was northbound on Road E in a 2007 Chrysler 300. He was not injured, and it was unknown if he was using his seatbelt. The car sustained reportable damage and was impounded by George Towing.

Injured was David T. Allen, 50, of Redmond. He was eastbound on 26 driving a 2004 Toyota Camry. Also hurt was his passenger Harold E. Shuman, 46, of Redmond.

Allen was transported by ambulance to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake. Shuman was airlifted to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland. Both were wearing seat belts.

The Toyota sustained reportable damage. It was impounded by George Towing.
