Man on stolen motorcycle evades police in Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE - A male riding a stolen motorcycle was able to elude police following a high speed chase Sunday night in Moses Lake and into Adams County.

About 8:45 p.m., a motorcycle owner called police after locating an unknown person riding his stolen motorcycle near state Route 17 and Interstate 90. The motorcycle, a 2011 white Suzuki, was reportedly stolen about a month ago near Moses Lake.

The man reportedly followed the suspect for a short time until the suspect entered a residential area near Moses Lake High School, according to police reports.

Officers began searching the area where the motorcycle was last seen and later located the suspect turning off Sharon Avenue on South Pioneer Way Avenue heading south. Officers reportedly attempted to stop the rider when he took off quickly. A second officer joined the pursuit at SR 17 and Yonezawa Boulevard and continued to follow the motorcycle south out of Moses Lake, according to police reports.

Grant and Adams County Sheriff's deputies later caught up to the motorcycle on SR 17 near Othello. The rider reportedly continued south until turning onto SR 26 and was able to evade arrest, according to Capt. Dave Sands.

The suspect was described as a white male with a dark tan and tattoos on his arm. He was wearing a black tank top at the time of the pursuit.
