Veterans are slipping through the cracks

| July 18, 2014 6:00 AM

Why do so many Americans and our veterans have to go through so much red tape in order to receive any help or benefits? So many homeless people in the streets, what's wrong with this picture?

Government gives so many agencies grants like housing authority, Salvation Army, so many more agencies.

Where does the money go? Who qualifies, the one that lies better? One brings all kind of papers and one still gets no help. Laws are changed every time if you're disabled and incarcerated. No benefits. What about our children and homes? Bills have to be paid. My mother lived two years on $300 in disability. My nephew lives on $37 from the state. Medical bills are not covered. All you hear, is that you must follow guidelines. Ever since the bailout, the disabaled veterans and underprivileged, this is where cutbacks were taken.

All this money from the state is given to agencies just to say you don't qualify. Then who does?
