Relay team appreciates Herald's support

| July 18, 2014 6:00 AM

We would like to thank you (so much!) for donating the weekend at Lake Coeur d'Alene gift certificate complete with a boat cruise.

Team REC used this for our raffle fundraiser in this year's campaign.

The raffle was another huge hit, particularly the night of Relay on June 19, when we nearly sold out all of our raffle tickets and had dozens of Relay for Life event participants join us at our tent for the drawings. It was quite exciting!

The raffle alone generated $5,500 toward our $7,500 goal, but we ended up surpassing that and finishing with $10,837 raised. Combined with REC Silicon's corporate match of another $10,000, a total of $20,837 ended up going to the American Cancer Society at the completion of the campaign. We were thrilled!

Frankly, it couldn't be done without community partners and allies like you and the Columbia Basin Herald joining in the fight against cancer.

We know that the Relay for Life campaign means a lot to the Columbia Basin Herald and appreciate the large sponsorship you supported them with as well.

Thanks to caring donors like you, and the power of partnerships in this terrific community, the American Cancer Society has more necessary funding to help those battling this terrible disease, and we have terrific memories of a community coming together again. Thank you for being a part of this with us.

Thank you again for the donation to our campaign and everything you do for our community.
