Dan Newhouse is not afraid of hard work.

His life experience demonstrates his commitment to his family, his farm and the people in central Washington as a State Representative from 2003-2009 and when he served as director of the State Department of Agriculture from 2009-2013.

As an employer, Dan has signed the front side of a paycheck - not just the backside.

During his public service, Dan helped promote Washington's abundant agricultural resources and encouraged the next generation of family farms. Following college and work experience, Dan's son has returned to run the family farm, which says a lot about the strength of the Newhouse family.

Dan was born and raised near Sunnyside, where he and Carol raised their two children, Devon and Jensena.

As a conservative state legislator, Dan Newhouse was quick to respond to his constituents and had a reputation of listening and then following up with action. He has a proven record of being a fiscal conservative, as well as upholding traditional family values.
