PASCO - The Moses Lake wrestling team began its run at the Pasco Redneck Summer Wrestling Camp in dominant fashion.

Long is the reigning 4A state champion at 106 pounds while Clasen finished third in the 132-pound division at last season's state tournament.

Moses Lake began its day with a win over Montana CMR, 48-21.

The Chiefs continued to roll, beating Lindbergh 63-12 and Decatur's B team 48-15.

Moses Lake met Ellensburg in the fourth dual of the day and held the Bulldogs to single digits, winning convincinly 66-9.

Moses Lake was offered a respite when its fifth opponent, Kennewick, forfeited after not showing up to the camp.

The Chiefs were back on the mat against a combined Southridge/West Valley team. The two schools together were no match for Moses Lake and the Chiefs claimed their sixth victory of the day, 61-3.

Moses Lake ended the first day of competition with two blowouts against Prosser (63-12) and Walla Walla (68-0).

Head coach Jaime Garza was pleased with the way his team wrestled and is looking forward to facing Deer Park and Tahoma, two state powers, on the second day of competition.
