Police find homemade bomb, drugs near Quincy grade school

QUINCY - Police found a homemade bomb, guns and several types of illegal drugs at a home near Pioneer Elementary School recently.

Quincy police arrested Michael Bradley, 28, of Quincy and charged him with numerous felonies including possession of a homemade bomb, illegal possession of guns, possession of methamphetamine, heroin and prescription medication without a prescription.

According to the police report, an anonymous tipster alerted Quincy police earlier this month that there might be bombs and drugs at Bradley's residence. Acting on that information, police obtained a search warrant for Bradley's home, located at 110 J Street Southeast in Quincy. Members of the Tactical Response Team and Bomb Squad served the warrant about 3:30 a.m. on July 8, according to the police report.

Once inside, Bradley admitted to having the bomb and showed officers where it was located, in his garage.

He also showed the officers the drugs, some of which were locked in a safe in a bedroom that he shared with a woman.

That woman, who admitted to using some of the drugs with Bradley, was not initially charged with any crimes, according to court records.

According to the police report, Bradley's house is about 250 feet from Pioneer Elementary School.
