MOSES LAKE – A Moses Lake driver was cited for several violations by the Washington State Patrol after the vehicle he was driving rear-ended two others on June 26 in Moses Lake.

Both collisions occurred on Highway 17, the first at East Broadway. The second happened between East Broadway and Wheeler Road.

Joseph M. Zamora, 32, was cited for hit-and-run attended, hit-and-run unattended, DUI, felony eluding, resisting arrest and obstruction. Zamora was injured, and so was one of the other drivers.

The WSP was called to the collisions at 5:15 p.m. After investigating, Trooper R. Senger reported that Zamora and the other drivers were southbound on 17 from Stratford Road.

Zamora was driving the third vehicle, a 1996 Nissan Altima. At East Broadway, Senger said, the Nissan struck the second vehicle, a 2003 GMC pickup, in the rear.

The pickup was driven by Kolton J. Zigler, 19, of Chehalis, who was not injured. The pickup, which stopped on the shoulder, sustained reportable damage but was driven from the scene.

According to the WSP, the Nissan went on down the highway. Between Wheeler and East Broadway, the WSP said, it struck a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse driven by Francisco A. Pacheco, 24, of Moses Lake.

Pacheco lost control, and the Mitsubishi hit a concrete barrier but finished in the roadway. Pacheco was hurt and was treated at the scene. His car sustained reportable damage but was driven from the scene.

The Nissan went on down the road, the WSP said. After Zamora was arrested, he was taken by ambulance to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake.
