Undocumented children may pose threats

| July 11, 2014 6:00 AM

The latest weapon being used against the people of the United States is the direct result of actions of the Federal Government! That may seem a strange statement, but consider what is happening.

The Bureau of Customs and Border Protection was created in 2003. It has a history that dates back to May 28, 1924 when the Border Patrol was created. The purpose was to secure the borders.

The current "invasion" of thousands of unaccompanied children is an attack on our country. This attack taxes the resources used for border protection, and also State resources. The "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program created by the President in 2012 instructed the Department of Homeland Security to "exercise discretion." This policy aids smuggling syndicates and organized crime in foreign countries. It increases the risk of children coming to the United States who have infectious diseases, or who may be young trained terrorists. It promotes "family reunification or long-term care" and effectively allows these children to disappear into the United States.

The discretion that should be exercised would be to determine the origin country of each undocumented person (child or adult), then immediately transport that person either back to their home country, or to their embassy.. The United States does not have an unlimited capacity to accept people from other countries who seek to escape from oppressive governments, poverty, crime, etc. The parents of these children should be actively seeking to reform their own home countries! "Family reunification or long-term care" should be the responsibility of the person's home country.

The most important question that should be answered by the President ot the United States is why his administration is encouraging this invasion of illegal immigrants! What political benefit does this administration gain from this policy? Does the DACA program demonstrate a failure to protect and defend this country?
