Letter inspired by 911 call

| July 4, 2014 6:00 AM

The pine-cone POO-lice are doing their jobs with all do vigilance. My cousin was cleaning the pine-cones from the ground, around his motor-home. A call was placed to 911 that a motor-home was emptying its waste in the street. The city police blockaded the street and sent in five squad cars. With palms resting on their semi-automatic pistols, the police were ready for action. A pine-cone mistaken for a human poo. Police ready to shoot an American over poo or pine-cones.

How did it come to this?

The butterfly effect. After World War I., Britain, France, and Italy redrew the map of the Middle East. Iraq was born. 1961, Iraq nationalizes their oil fields; removing American and European control of Iraqi oil fields. 2001, Sept. 11, eight Shiite Muslims (with green cards) hijacked four jumbo jets and crashed into three building. All of them were checked out by the FBI and CIA.

They are two ways to foster civilization. One is by the use of force, fear of the use of force, and/or the show of force. The other way is to build trust. Republics, aka democracies build trust.

Now every police force in America is armed and ready to fight the terrorist foe. With our borders unsecured, we look for terrorist everywhere. Even sweeping pine-cones with brooms. Out of fear, we dream them up. A self-full-filling prophesy.

History repeats: the only republic older than ours died over 2000 years ago. The Roman Republic died by executive order.

Iraq will soon be divided into three smaller and more manageable pieces. The oil fields are once again in Western hands and it only cost us our liberty, and the Republic... Long Live the Empire. With mercenaries guarding the sheep.

How did we get here? Fear and greed.
