Walleyes end skid against Strikers

EAST WENATCHEE - The Moses Lake Walleyes broke a 10-game losing streak Monday after defeating the Eastmont Strikers, 6-5.

The Walleyes took an early 2-0 lead before Eastmont knotted the score at 2-2 in the sixth inning. Moses Lake answered with a four-run seventh inning and staved off a late Strikers rally.

In the first, Easton Castro was able to drive in Carson Fisk on a fielder's choice and Jared Haddican added a two-out RBI single in the second.

Haddican led the Walleyes with two hits and a RBI. Fisk added two RBIs.

Anthony Longmire pitched 7 2/3 innings and struck out two batters,

Back on the road Tuesday, Moses Lake lost its first game against the Strikers, 9-3.

Eastmont led 8-0 after four innings before the Walleyes were able to plate three runners in the fifth inning.

Fisk contributed two hits and a RBI in the loss.

Haddican struck out three batters in three innings of work.

Game 2 results were not available by press time.

Next, the Walleyes will travel to a tournament in Kennewick July 3 where the team will face the Kennewick Bandits, Chiawana and the Kennewick Phantoms.
