In 2009, he would take up a new apprentice Javier Santillan who Mike mentored and trained to be Sparky Jr., with a rocky start the two quickly became inseparable.

Mike was always available to help people in need, and he would go out of his way to help the elderly in the area. He had a devout and tight following of dear friends who will miss him dearly.
