Lions claw Easton/Thorp, 64-7

MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake Christian Academy girls basketball team toppled Easton/Thorp High School, 64-7, recently.
The MLCA Lions improved to 11-4 on the season and are tied for first place in the 1B Central Washington standings.
The Lions shot out to a huge 50-5 halftime lead behind the perimeter shooting of Dani Sandberg and the strong inside play of Anna Yarbro.
Sandberg finished with 21 points, all in the first half, and Yarbro scored 23.
"Dani is a very smart point guard," head coach Jessica Anissipour said. "She is very disciplined and very active on offense."
Yarbro attacked offensively and helped lead the Lions to their blowout victory.
"Anna is definitely a strong post player and she knows how to use her body," Anissipour said.
After a very loose and free first half, Anissipour reined in her team in the second, working the shot clock down to single digits before taking shots.
The Lions defense was solid in the second, only allowing two points in the half.
The team's next game is Feb. 4, 6 p.m, at Day Star Academy against Columbia Basin Secondary School.
