MOSES LAKE - Parents of eighth graders will be invited to a meeting to help them navigate the new high school schedule in April. The meetings and registration process begin for current students and their parents with an information night Feb. 18.

The meeting for current students and parents begins at 7 p.m. in the high school theater, MLHS principal Josh Meek said. A timeline is included in a newsletter that will be sent to parents within the next two weeks.

Registration for current students starts March 5; students meet with counselors and receive registration materials through April 11. They select courses through the online Skyward program from March 24 to April 18. Students find out if they got their first choices, and their options if they didn't, by late May, when registration is completed.

It's a different process for eighth graders. Counselors meet with students at Frontier and Chief Moses middle schools the week of April 14. The date for incoming freshmen parent information nights and registration has been set for April 22 through 24, at the MLHS theater. Additional details will be announced.

Parents will be encouraged to help their new freshmen set up the schedule, Meek said. Registration will be April 22 through 25 via the Skyward program.

As with current high school students, incoming freshmen will know by late May if they got their first choice classes, and their options if they didn't.

Students receive their final schedule in August.
