Raid leads to arrests, stolen property near Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE - More than $100,000 worth of stolen property was recovered and four Moses Lake men arrested during a raid of a home near Moses Lake Monday morning.

The Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team raided a home about 9 a.m. Monday at 4562 Road N NE related to an investigation into the Jan. 20 property thefts from National Frozen Foods in Moses Lake. A utility trailer, two pick-up trucks, generators, tires, tools, storage tanks and hydraulic parts were stolen in the incident, according to the sheriff's office. The trucks were previously recovered.

Police recovered the remaining stolen property inside and nearby a shop on the property, as well as other suspected stolen goods that may be connected to thefts from Spokane, Yakima and Lincoln counties, according to the sheriff's office.

A $77,000 Bobcat loader, listed as stolen from a Yakima County resident, was found on the property. Police estimate more than $100,000 in suspected stolen property was recovered. Several anonymous tips helped lead deputies to the Road N home.

Joel L. Wright, 46, and the renter of the home and shop, and Tate B. Wright, 19, both of Moses Lake, were booked into Grant County Jail on suspicion of first-degree possession of stolen property. Corey A. Sweet, 40, of Moses Lake, was booked on suspicion of first-degree possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine. Patrick E. Pearson, 41, of Moses Lake, was also booked on suspicion of first-degree possession of stolen property and outstanding warrants for burglary and vehicle prowling, according to the sheriff's office. All four suspects are from Moses Lake.

"Deputies did a great job investigating this case and tips from the public helped a lot," Sheriff Tom Jones said. "There was a large amount of stolen goods found at this location and I'm sure the property owners will be happy to get their things back."
