Columbia Basin girls score first league win

EASTON - After struggling throughout the season, Columbia Basin Secondary School (CBSS) broke into the win column Saturday with a 27-24 win over Easton.

The Lady Phoenix fell behind early, 2-8, before rallying to take a 14-10 lead at halftime. CBSS took the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for the three-point win.

Amber Lloyd scored a game-high 14 points, while Brianne Greene added seven.

Jayslie Balanay and Amree Kimall scored four and two points, respectively.

The previous night, CBSS struggled against Entiat and fell, 23-68. Lloyd scored 10 points for the Lady Phoenix.

CBSS boys basketball was unable to grab a win over the weekend, losing to Entiat, 42-52.

The Phoenix led at halftime, 25-22, behind 10 first half points from Dan Sielaff. However, CBSS was outscored 8-20 in the third quarter and trailed 33-42 entering the final period.

The Phoenix were unable to make up the deficit and fell, 42-52. Sielaff scored a team-high 14 points and Kyrelle Buckley added 10.

Columbia Basin is now 6-7 overall and 1-5 in Central Washington 1B South play.
