RITZVILLE - The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague girls basketball team lost an early lead and fell to the visiting St. George's Dragons, 43-41.

"We lost a tough one tonight," head coach John Galbreath said. "We just did not have really good effort."

The Broncos had possession of the ball with a tied game and were setting up a potential game-winning shot.

A Dragon defender stole the ball with 5.5 seconds to go and made an easy lay-up, to go ahead.

The Broncos played sound on both sides of the ball to take an 11-3 lead at the end of the first quarter.

"Then our energy level just dropped," Galbreath said. "We are a young team and we just need to learn how to execute better."

Broncos junior Jenna Bennet scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds. Senior Dayln Killian had eight points and 11 rebounds while junior Mallory Kesser added five points and 11 rebounds.

Their next game is today at Warden High School, at 6 p.m.

The Cougars are 4-9 overall after defeating Royal 6-42 at home Friday.
