Othello family hurt in wreck

OTHELLO - A family of five was injured in a wreck Sunday 16 miles east of Othello.

Erika Verduzco, 30, of Othello was driving a 2004 Dodge Durango east on state Route 26 when she reportedly lost control on a bridge and struck a guardrail, according to the State Patrol. The Durango re-entered the road, struck a concrete barrier and came to rest against another guardrail. The Durango was totaled.

Verduzco and her passengers, Luis Verduzco, 34, Jazlyhn Verduzco, 12, Janelly Verduzco, 9, and Luis R. Verduzco, 4, were reported injured and taken to Othello Community Hospital. All were wearing seatbelts.

The cause of the accident was driving too fast for conditions, according to the state patrol.
