Traffic violation leads to car chase, jail

QUINCY - Failure to stop on a traffic violation led to a car chase and jail for a pair of men in Quincy on Jan. 3. ?

According to the Quincy Police Department, a Quincy police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation, and the driver failed to stop despite the police lights and sirens.

Eventually the vehicle stopped at a residence. The driver exited the vehicle with a one-year-old child and disobeyed all commands of the officer to put the child down.

Another male subject exited the residence and assisted the driver and child into the residence. ?

With the assistance of the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the residence was secured for a search warrant. During the search warrant application process, the driver, Alonso U. Guerrero Hernandez, 22, and Hector Z. Guerrero, 52, exited the residence and were taken into custody without incident. ?

The Guerreros were booked into the Grant County Jail. Alonso was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and obstructing a public servant. Hector was charged with third-degree rendering criminal assistance and obstructing a public servant.
