William Mire Shines Sr.

William Mire Shines Sr. (Bill), 83 went to sleep in death in Moses Lake, Washington on Sunday, January 12th, 2014. Bill was born in Tom, Oklahoma on August 25th, 1930 to Granison Shines and Martha Shines (Burton). Bill served in the military and was honorably discharged as Corporal, on August 27th, 1952. He resided in Boise, Idaho where he completed school and began raising a family. In 1965 Bill moved his family to Moses Lake, Washington, where he worked for Columbia Basin Job Corps Center as a Baking Instructor, for 30 years.

Bill enjoyed baking, hunting, bowling, fishing, board games and playing basketball with his sons and anyone else who wanted to play. What Bill loved most of all was helping people, which filled his days with joy.

Bill is proceeded in death by 10 brothers and sisters, his father and mother, wives Billy Jean and Georgia Shines. Survived by his three siblings Charles Shines of Idaho, Frank Shines of Florida and Miree Pope of California, 12 children sons, David, Ricky, William Jr. (Bill), Terry, Kelly, Brett Shines, Rodney Wright, daughters Bev Minnis, Brenda Ayscue, Bridget Balsley, Jodi Shines, 28 grand-children, 21 great-grand-children and a host of nieces and nephews.

Bill actively served as one of Jehovah‚Äôs Witnesses, he was a member of the Moses Lake, Marina Congregation of Jehovah‚ Äôs Witnesses. The promises of Jehovah the God who the bible states cannot lie, assure us that we will enjoy Bill‚Äôs company again. May our eyes look to him with hope and gratitude for what he will do.

Services will be held Jan. 25 at Kingdom Hall in Moses Lake, 1610 W Lee Street, 6 p.m. Speaker will be Jim Bass.
