Betty Mae Zenger

Betty Mae Zenger (Kalina) was born October 24, 1928, in Pe Ell, WA to Stanzy J. and Frances M. Kalina, and went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2014. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Marysville School District for many years until her retirement. Previously, she worked as a Secretary at Moses Lake High School from 1966 to 1974. Betty was married to Carl O. Brimm (1949-1965) until his death. In 1974 she married Robert W. Zenger and they shared families until he passed away in 2008. Betty was a 50-year member of Eastern Star in good standing at the time of her death.

Betty is survived by daughter Mary Kay Burgess (Gary), sons Thomas C. Brimm (Vicki), Jay E. Brimm (Samantha) and Robert Zenger's children Lynn Churchill (Chuck), Denise Baker (Jim), Barbara Donovan (Don); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Nothing gave Betty more joy then being surrounded by her family, baking, gardening, camping, and spending time at the ocean. She was involved in her children's many club, music, and sports activities. Her hobbies included genealogy, silk flower arrangement and involvement in her retirement community. She will be ever remember for her legendary banana bread.

Interment will be at Marysville Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 8, 2014, 12 p.m. at the Ken Baxter Community Center in Marysville. Arrangements are entrusted to Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home, Marysville, WA.
