Reader wonders if the universe can exist without a creator

| January 17, 2014 5:00 AM

Gravity works - that is fact. The earth exists - that is fact. The Universe exists - that is fact.

Can the Universe exist without there being a Creator? That is an interesting question. To most people, the intuitive answer is yes, the fact that the Universe exists is their proof of the existence of a Creator. I came to the conclusion many years ago that my ability to understand the Universe (every aspect of every scientific field from astronomy to zoology) is less than a jack rabbit's ability to understand the mathematics of quantum physics. Therefore, my ability to understand the form, substance, location, or any other aspect of the "Creator" cannot exist.

For those who believe in the Christian faith, the teachings of Christ provide the answers to the Love that the Creator has for each individual person. I believe that it is a greater love than parents have for their own children.

It would seem logical that the leaders from every religious faith should get together to examine the teachings to find that which would provide a common understanding of the Creator. If all agree that there is a single Creator, regardless of what name (due to language differences) is used, then mankind should be able to cease killing in "the name of religion."

Somehow I don't expect to see that degree of intelligence during my lifetime.
