Red Cross volunteer recruitment planned

MATTAWA - The Red Cross will host a volunteer recruitment event in Mattawa on Jan. 20.

The event will be for folks who want to learn more about volunteering with the Red Cross, signing up, and/or getting trained.

Volunteer Sign Up and Training will be held at Mattawa City Hall at 10 a.m.

After you become a Red Cross volunteer, you'll be equipped to respond to disasters in your community or across the nation.

You may use the Red Cross's online application process to sign up.

This will allow you to take some introductory courses online to ensure you will have the necessary prerequisites for the in-person courses being taught on this training day.

To register online please visit www.redcross.org/ewa and navigate to the Volunteer option on the left menu.

Volunteers will also be available Wednesday, Jan. 15, with computers to assist you in completing the online application process. They will be at Mattawa City Hall from 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
