SPOKANE - A Spokane Valley man was arrested in connection to the fatal shooting of Spokane businessman Doug Carlile, who has previous ties to Moses Lake.

Timothy E. Suckow, 50, was charged with the first-degree murder of Carlile, 63, who was shot Dec. 15 at his home in an upscale South Hill Spokane neighborhood, according to Spokane police. Police did not release any additional information on the arrest.

Carlile was confronted in the kitchen of his home and shot to death during an apparent home invasion, according to the Associate Press.

Police believe the shooting was not a random attack. No motive was given. Police previously asked the public for information on Carlile's past business activities, which stretched from Seattle, to Moses Lake, Spokane and North Dakota. According to state records, Carlile was listed as the manager of Dovehaven, LLC. and owner of Oasis Development, Inc., both in Moses Lake.

Investigators later narrowed their information request to Carlile's business Kingdom Dynamics Inc., a construction equipment hauling company in Spokane.

Spokane police previously reported Carlile and his wife returned home the evening of Dec. 15 when an intruder confronted Carlile in the kitchen. Carlile's wife, who was upstairs, returned to the kitchen, where she reportedly saw a man she did not recognize, pointing a gun at her husband. Carlile's wife ran upstairs and hid in a closet as shots were fired.
