Kenneth (Pinky) Franklin Friend

Kenneth (Pinky) Franklin Friend, 79, went to His heavenly Home on January 8, 2014 in Soap Lake, WA after a 7-year battle with cancer. He was born December 27, 1934 in Wenatchee, WA to Lester and Edith Friend. Ken lived his entire life on the family farm at Wilson Creek, devoted to farming. Basketball was a big part of his high school years, attending state championships. He served 2 years in Germany with the US Army.

As a young man, Ken accepted the Lord into his life at a Child Evangelism Class led by Evelyn Rosenberg. He was later baptized with 4 friends in Soap Lake. Ken was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church of Wilson Creek.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim, and niece Joyce. Survivors include one brother, Leroy (Florence) Friend of Soap Lake, one sister, Claudia (Larry) Knauft of Spokane Valley, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Memorial services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Grace Baptist Church, 651 Sprague St, Wilson Creek.
