Signs and symptoms used to properly characterize these diseases will be discussed. Chemical and cultual practices effective in limiting or preventing the developement of these diseases during the growing season and at harvest will be reviewed. Only the use of products currently registered for use on potatoes to manage these diseases in Washington and Oregon will be addressed.

1:00 p.m. Silvia Rondon (1 pesticide applicator credit)Zebra Chip: El manchado de la papa: identification, manejo y controlZebra Chip disease: Identification, management & control This presentation will provide an overview of the Zebra Chip (ZC) disease in potatoes that has become an important issue in the Pacific Northwest region of the US since its discovery in 2011. The presentation is intended to help growers, consultants, pratitioners and allied industry personnel to identify and understand the basic aspects of ZC disease and the vector, the potato psyllid. The presentation will show numerous aspects including host range, biology, ecology and management practices that will help manage this disease/insect complex. Only insecticides registered to control ZC will be included in the management section.
