Lori Hansen

Lori went home to be with her Heavenly Father on December 28, 2013. She was born June 15, 1962 in Des Plaines Illinois, and started her life small at 4 pounds because she was 6 and 1/2 weeks premature. Her parents were Janet Smothers and Robert Hammen.

Lori attended schools in DesMoines and Indianola, Iowa, graduating in June of 1960.

She married Greg Hansen October 12, 1985 in Ephrata,Wa. Although she loved children, she was never able to have any of her own.

Lori volunteered countless hours with the children of the Moses Lake United Methodist Church and received a mission award from the United Methodist Women. She remained active with the worship team, arranging help with weekly services. Her beautiful and humble spirit touched all who knew her.

Her father passed away in 1991 from the same myotonic distrophy that affected Lori, one other sister and her brother. Lori has three sisters, Kimberly Hale, Beth Lang and Melissa Smothers and one brother Russell Hammen. She also has three nieces, three nephews and 2 great nieces. Her husband Greg and many other family and friends will miss her greatly.

A committal service will take place on January 25th on the west side. A memorial service will be scheduled early spring at the Moses Lake United Methodist Church.
