WALLA WALLA - A group of unattached swimmers from Moses Lake competed at the January Storm meet in Walla Walla recently.

Brothers Luke and Ian MacDougall and Eric Kemper all qualified for a variety of events for A Champs as well as Age Group Regionals. Ian showed a drastic improvement recording personal bests in 11/12 events, only missing a perfect 12/12 by .05 of a second.

Ian won the majority of the heats he competed in, qualified for seven A Champ events and was able to improve his time in the 100-yard fly. He also competed in the mile race for the first time.

Luke began swimming with the 13- and 14-year-olds in Walla Walla and finished as the high point winner in the age group. He scored a total of 80 points and qualified for nine events in the Age Group Regional Sectionals meet, which takes place in March.

Luke swam personal bests in 9/12 events including shaving 46.5 seconds from his mile time.

Eric Kemper recorded a time of 29.18 seconds in the 50-yard freestyle and has qualified to swim maximum events for A Champs. Kemper has also qualified for Age Group Regionals.
