NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in Grant County, State of Washington, there will be held a Special Election for the voters of Warden School District No. 146-161, for the purpose of submitting to the voters, for their approval or rejection of an expiring Maintenance and Operation Levy and a Capitol Levy for School Safety and Instructional Technology Improvements; Royal School District No. 160, and Wilson Creek School District No. 167-202 for the purpose of submitting to the voters, for their approval or rejection of an expiring Replacement Maintenance and Operation Levy.

Warden School District No. 146-161-J

PROPOSITION NO. 1

REPLACEMENT MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION LEVY

The Board of Directors of Warden School District No. 146-161 adopted Resolution No. 02-13-14, concerning a proposition to finance maintenance and operation expenses. This proposition would authorize the District to meet the educational needs of its students by levying the following excess taxes, in place of an expiring levy, on all taxable property within the District, for support of the District’s General Fund educational maintenance and operation expenses:

This proposition would authorize the District to levy the following excess taxes on all taxable property within the District to pay costs of making District-wide safety improvements and acquiring and installing instructional technology equipment and infrastructure:

This proposition would authorize the District to meet the educational needs of its students by levying the following excess taxes, in place of an expiring levy, on all taxable property within the District, for support of the District’s General Fund educational programs, maintenance and operation expenses:

This proposition would authorize the District to levy the following taxes, in place of an expiring levy, upon all taxable property within the District, for support of the District's General fund educational maintenance and operation expenses:

The registration deadline for online and mail-in registrations and transfers is January 13, 2014. Any qualified elector who is not registered to vote in the State of Washington may register to vote in person at the Grant County Auditor’s Office up to and including February 3, 2014. You may register or obtain registration forms at the Auditor’s Office, online at www.myvote.wa.gov, and the Department of Licensing. The Grant County Auditor’s Office, 35 C St NW, Room 203, at the County Courthouse, will be open so voters may obtain replacement ballots, drop off voted ballots, and use the Accessible Voting Unit at the following times:

Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Beginning January 22, 2014

Election Day 7:00 Am until 8:00 PM February 11, 2014

Drive-up ballot drop box locations for the February 11, 2014 Election:

Grant County Courthouse, Public Parking, Lot #A, Ephrata

Fire District #10, Fire Hall, 588 Camelia St, Royal City

The ballot drop boxes will be opened for drop off on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 and locked on

election night February 11, 2014 at 8:00 PM.

Ballots require sufficient first class postage and must be postmarked by the day of election. Check with your local Post Office for deadlines to have your ballot postmarked properly. The following public meetings will be held in conjunction with the processing and tabulation of election returns for the Special Election to be held on February 11, 2014, in Grant County, Washington. The times, dates and location and purpose of each meeting are:

January 22, 2014 – February 24, 2014, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Extended Hours, if necessary); Processing of Mail Ballots, checking signatures, open and processing ballots – Grant County Election Dept., Room 203,

Courthouse Ephrata, WA

January 27, 2014 through February 14, 2014 to canvass & duplicate any necessary ballots for tabulation.

February 25, 2014, 10:00 AM to canvass the votes cast and certify the election.
