Royal boys have tough game

| January 7, 2014 5:00 AM

ROYAL CITY - It continued to be a tough season last Saturday for the Royal High School boys basketball team, falling, 73-34, to Ritzville.

The Knights stayed with Ritzville for about five minutes. Then Ritzville pulled away. Its defensive pressure caused a number of turnovers that led to quick, easy points.

"That is one well oiled machine," coach Pete Christensen said. "They are the best team we have seen or probably will see for this year. They were a big and physical team."

The Knights were led by the 12 points of Teddy Mead. Aaron Johnson added nine.
