MOSES LAKE - An Everett man is facing a felony charge after leading deputies on a short pursuit Sunday night near Moses Lake.

About 5:15 p.m., Grant County deputies were called for a suspicious vehicle in the area of Shorecrest Drive Northeast.

A woman reported a vehicle parked at her residence that she had never seen before, according to police reports.

Deputies arrived and attempted to contact the occupants inside.

The driver, Anthony W. Collins, 47, was reportedly asleep at the wheel.

When awoken, he allegedly sped off, leading to a short pursuit.

The pursuit was terminated because of a lack of evidence a crime had occurred.

About an hour later, Moses Lake police received a call of a possible DUI in the area of North Grape Drive and West Oregon Street.

The suspected vehicle was located and Collins was placed into custody for DUI, according to police reports.

Officers also allegedly found bottles of alcohol stolen from Safeway inside the vehicle.

Collins was booked into Grant County Jail on suspicion of felony eluding.

His vehicle was impounded pending a search warrant for possession of stolen property.

DUI charges will be filed when the toxicology reports are completed, according to police reports.
