MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake man was shot and killed Monday night in an officer-involved shooting after a disturbance call on South Belair Drive.

About 5 p.m., Moses Lake police responded to a disturbance in the 2000 block of South Belair Drive near South Division Street. Police reportedly confronted a male at a residence and an officer shot the suspect, according to Chief Dave Ruffin.

The man was transported to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake where he later died. The identity of the man was not available Monday night.

Ruffin said no officers were injured in the shooting. The name of the officer involved was not released Monday night.

The incident is being investigated by the Columbia Basin Investigative Team, who were on scene about 7 p.m. Monday.

More information will be released Tuesday afternoon at the earliest to ensure investigators have time to conduct interviews with witnesses, and gather and verify information.

The investigative team is a multi-jurisdiction team created in 2009 and comprised of detectives from the Grant and Adams County sheriff's offices, Moses Lake, Ephrata, Quincy and Othello police departments, and the State Patrol.
