Brooks trial delayed

| February 26, 2014 5:00 AM

EPHRATA - A Moses Lake teen's lawyer requested a continuance in the attempted murder case against his client.

A new trial date for Nathon Brooks was set for April 7, with an omnibus hearing on March 19 in Grant County Superior Court. Visiting Judge John Hotchkiss, of Douglas County, will preside in the trial.

Hotchkiss ruled earlier this year that Brooks, 15, should be charged as an adult for allegedly shooting his parents after they took away video games and other electronic devices.
