Earl was born on a farm near Kuna, Idaho, to the late Frank William and Maud Lovisa (Brown) Fuhriman. Earl was the 9th of 10 children born to Frank and Maud. Being raised on a farm, Earl knew the meaning of hard work. Earl graduated from Nampa High School. At the age of 21, Earl served a mission to Germany from January 1937 to June 1939. In October of 1954, Earl was offered a job in Moses Lake and they have lived here since. Earl worked for the US Post Office. He delivered mail in downtown Moses Lake and on the Peninsula until his retirement in 1977.

Earl and Norma spent Thursday evenings and weekends doing genealogical research. This they continued doing until late in the 1980's. Earl loved his family and spent many hours fishing, camping, going to sports activities with his children, along with other community and church activities.
