LIND - District patrons in the Lind School District approved a maintenance and operations levy and a bond for repairs and upgrades in a special election last night.

In unofficial results, voters cast 214 yes votes and 81 no votes, for the M&O levy, 72 percent approving, and 202 yes votes and 90 no votes for the bond, 69 percent approving.

The two-year levy will generate $717,176 per year, district superintendent Rob Roettger said. The $4 million bond will be used to fix the roof at Lind Elementary School and Lind-Ritzville Middle School, Roettger said, as well as upgraded heating-cooling systems in both buildings.
