Robin makes appearance, then disappears
Chairman of the Board of Buck Knives, Chuck Buck, tells the story of the Buck Model 110, Folding Hunter, during the press conference to celebrate the 50 anniversary of the knife.
Our neighbor, Bill McKinney, called last weekend.
"There is a robin in the tree in your front yard," he said.
My study of robins indicates they migrate from around here, but in some areas, even in cold areas, they remain all year long, as long as there is food. Here they seem to leave during the winter
The returning robins are a sign of spring for Bill and he lets me know when the first ones are sighted. This gives us both hope about warmer weather in the near future.
The robin of last weekend must have misjudged the weather, for a day after his arrival the temperature dropped significantly. Bill, let me know when you see another robin.
Buck Knives celebrate 50 years of the Model 110
One of the press conferences we attended at this year's SHOT Show was the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Model 110, Folding Hunter.
Chairman of the Board Chuck Buck told us the story of the Buck Knife Company having financial trouble in the early 1960s, as well as many other knife companies. They introduced the Folding Hunter and the knife was a hit. It saved the company and continues to be a big seller.
