Valente was born in Guerrero, Mexico on June 1, 1967, son of Eva Mayo and Juan Melgoza. He grew up in Michoacan, Mexico and was a veteran on the Mexican Navy. He came to the United States looking for a good future. Valente was a hard working field worker who took pride in any job he did. His favorite occupation was working as a security guard.

Anyone who knew him would describe him as a very humble, honest and simple man. He left the most memorable impression with his amazing smile. He loved to dance and sing and his soft spot was his family. Valente would help them anyway he could. He lives on through his daughters, Valeria, Marla and Samantha, his family and his loved ones. We will always cherish our memories of our father and friend.
