SCHWANA - Grant County detectives are seeking information on a shooting Saturday afternoon near Schwana that left a 22-year-old Mattawa man injured.

According to the sheriff's office, Robert Hernandez walked into the Outpost Grocery at 20476 B St. SW in Schwana, near Beverly Burke Road, about 4:15 p.m. Saturday with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. Law enforcement does not currently know where the shooting happened and have not been able to identify a suspect.

Hernandez was initially transported by ambulance and treated at Quincy Valley Medical Center before he was later transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he underwent surgery Monday morning. He is currently listed in stable condition.

Hernandez is reportedly not cooperating with investigators at this time and will not identify who shot him or where the shooting occurred, according to the sheriff's office.

Detectives are investigating the shooting and ask anyone with information to contact the sheriff's office at 509-754-2011 ext. 468, or send information to crimetips@co.grant.wa.us and reference case number 14GS01241. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
