Carmelita "Carmen" Alvarado

Carmelita "Carmen" Alvarado, long time resident of Moses Lake, WA. passed away on January 28, 2014 at the age of 74, peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 30, 1939 in Mathis Texas to the parents of Tomas and Louisa Moreno. She met the love of her life Reynaldo Alvarado and soon after they married on April 27, 1958. They started their family and eventually moved to Moses Lake WA in 1967 where they raised three boys and a grandson. Carmen worked and held various positions throughout the community in particularly assisting senior citizens.

Carmen loved watching her sons and grandson grow up and especially enjoyed being around them during their sporting events. She enjoyed being outdoors, traveling, and cooking for her family. She really enjoyed watching all of her grandchildren grow up and cherished the moments with them.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years of marriage, Reynaldo Alvarado, her three sons, Reynaldo Alvarado Jr., Henry (Andrea) Alvarado and Michael (Danielle) Alvarado. Her grandchildren, Mario (Stacey) Alvarado, Veronica Alvarado, Laura Alvarado, Luke Alvarado, Bree Alvarado and Nicholas Alvarado. Her sister Helen Cisneros, brothers Tony Moreno and Robert Dominguez and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. Friday at Cheney Funeral Chapel, followed by a Rosary service at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, also at the Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 460 N. 5th St., in Cheney, WA. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA. Cheney Funeral Chapel, 1632 W. First St., Cheney WA.
