1952-2014

Brian Lindsay, 62, a local resident of Ephrata, Washington died on Tuesday, Dec 16 2014. He passed away as a result of a tragic accident while crossing Basin Street SW. Brian was born in Issaquah, Washington where he grew up and attended Issaquah high school. Brian was a Military Veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Germany during the Vietnam Era where he maintained weapons and administered munitions. Brian was an excellent marksman and had a passion for guns and target shooting. Brian served 12 years as a Volunteer Firefighter for the Issaquah Fire Department along with his father and brother. Later in life he became an auto mechanic specializing in foreign cars. As an avid outdoorsman Brian spent many years visiting Alaska, hunting and fishing until his health and disability prevented him from such rugged adventures. Being a quiet, intellectual man, Brian would often immerse himself into books. His favorite subjects were archeology, history, and that of early man or Pre-history (his words). Brian loved to garden with his trusty dog Barely at his side. He was always one of the first to start his seedlings in his green house come spring and was anxious to share them with his neighbors. A giving man, all his neighbors benefitted from his unique tomatoes and peppers. Brian was a large, tall, burley man in appearance, but to get to know him, he was gentle, caring, and extremely considerate of others, he will be greatly missed in our community.
